Hofstra Athletics Mourns The Passing Of Former Coach Bob Vanderwarker

Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Athletics is saddened to announce the passing of former head men's soccer and baseball coach Bob Vanderwarker. An integral member in the history of the Pride men's soccer program, Coach Vanderwarker guided Hofstra from 1965 to 1968 and led the team to its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance in 1968. 

During his five seasons at the helm of the soccer program, Hofstra won 34 games including 15 in 1968, which was a school record for 53 years. Vanderwarker also compiled 42 wins during his four seasons as baseball coach from 1966 to 1969.

Vanderwarker was inducted into the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015 as part of the 1968 men's soccer team.
