Hofstra Opens 2025-26 Campaign Sunday At Princeton Open

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University wrestling team will open the 2025-26 season Sunday at the Princeton Open. Matches begin at 9 a.m. from Princeton's Jadwin Gymnasium. The event will be streamed live on ESPN+ with brackets available at FloWrestling. Links can be found above or on the wrestling schedule at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra will have 15 attached wrestlers competing - Teague Strobel (125), Gauge Shipp (133), Chase Liardi (141), Joe Sparacio (141), Alex Turley (149), Frank Volpe (157), Chase Hontz (157), Dylan Zenion (157), Eric Shindel (157), Jake Slotnick (165), Jurius Clark (174), Matthew Waddell (174), Josh Jorgge (184), Danny Church (285), and Adrian Sans (285). Noah Tapia (149) will compete unattached.

Following the Princeton Open, Hofstra will return to action next weekend at the Journeymen Wrestling Wranglemania on Saturday, November 8 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Pride will face Duke and Appalachian State in dual matches at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively. Then on Sunday, November 9, Hofstra will take part in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic open tournament.
