Six Named To NWCA Scholar All-America Team

Hempstead, NY - The National Wrestling Coaches Association announced their 2025-26 Scholar All-America Team and six members of the Pride - Will Conlon, Chase Liardi, Adrian Sans, Alex Turley, Frank Volpe, and Matthew Waddell - earned recognition by the organization.

Student-athletes earn this accolade by meeting one or more of the following criteria:
  • A 3.0 gpa and a 2026 NCAA Wrestling All-American
  • A 3.2 gpa and a 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championship participant
  • A 3.5 gpa and a 2026 Conference Championship participant
  • A 3.5 gpa and competed in 15 or more matches with 60% or higher win percentage

All six Pride grapplers competed at the EIWA Championships this past season. Conlon placed sixth at the EIWA Championships at 197 pounds and owns a 3.71 GPA as a management major. Liardi, who placed sixth at 141 at the EIWA Championships, has a 3.78 GPA as a finance major. Sans owns a 3.71 GPA as an exercise physiology major. Turley, who placed seventh at 149 pounds at the EIWA Championships, has a 3.78 GPA as an accounting major. Volpe owns a 3.64 GPA as a finance major, while Waddell has a 3.75 GPA as a finance major. 

Hofstra's six NWCA Scholar All-Americans were the most of any school in the EIWA.
