Hempstead, NY – After a string of three consecutive road games, the Hofstra field hockey team returns to the familiar surroundings of Cindy Lewis Stadium for back-to-back non-conference home games, first on Friday, October 10, against Fairfield at 3 p.m., before hosting Wagner on Sunday, October 12, at noon. Both games will be streamed on FloCollege, and live statistics will be available for both games as well.
Hofstra dropped to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the Coastal Athletic Association following a 4-0 defeat at #13 Monmouth on Friday and a close 3-2 loss to Columbia on Sunday.
Kelly Levengood and
Teresa Karoff both got on the scoresheet with goals against the Lions, while
Kesia Richardson and
Gwenn van Dijk registered assists for the Pride.
Prior to the start of Sunday's game against Wagner, the Hofstra field hockey program will recognize graduating seniors
Teresa Karoff,
Lauren Lucas,
Pilar Penaloza,
Jamie Mc Millan, and
Riley MacIntosh in a pregame senior day ceremony.
Fairfield enters Friday 7-4 following wins over Sacred Heart and New Haven, pushing the Stags' winning streak to five games. Fairfield sports five student-athletes with five goals or more, led by Alex Senior with seven while she also leads the team with 15 points on the season.
After losses to Saint Francis and Quinnipiac, Wagner enters the week 4-7. Floorje Leunisse is the leading scorer for the Seahawks with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Wagner will face LIU on Friday before taking on Hofstra on Sunday.
Hofstra holds all-time winning records over both teams entering the weekend, with a 30-10 mark against Fairfield and an 8-4 record against Wagner.
