Hempstead, NY – For the second time this season, Hofstra field hockey freshman Gwenn van Dijk has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, in a release by the conference office.
 
van Dijk was previously named the Co-Rookie of the Week by the CAA on September 8.
 
The first-year midfielder finished the week with a goal and two assists for four points. van Dijk had an assist and a goal in Hofstra's win over Sunday, including the game-winning goal in overtime against the Seahawks, while she provided an assist against Fairfield on Friday. She upped her streak of consecutive games with at least one point to three this past weekend, and her OT winner against Wagner was her second of the season.
 
van Dijk and the Pride resumes CAA competition on Friday, October 17, at Northeastern before hosting New Haven on Sunday, October 19.
