Hofstra Travels To Binghamton And Lehman Open This Week

Hempstead, NY - Following a long holiday break, the Hofstra University wrestling team returns to action Thursday and Friday with a EIWA dual match at Binghamton followed by the Franklin & Marshall David H. Lehman Open. Thursday's dual begins at 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv, while Friday's open begins at 9 a.m. and can be streamed on FloWrestling. Hofstra (4-3, 2-0), which last competed on December 21, has won two consecutive duals and will be looking to remain undefeated in conference action against the Bearcats. The Pride is led by graduate 165-pounder Kyle Mosher and graduate 184-pounder Ross McFarland. Mosher is 8-7 on the season and is ranked in three national polls - InterMat (27), FloWrestling (30), and WrestleStat (30). McFarland is 7-4 and is ranked No. 29 by FloWrestling. 

Binghamton is 3-5 on the season and 1-0 in the EIWA, and is ranked No. 11 in the NWCA Mid-Major Poll released on January 7. The Bearcats are coming off a 2-1 weekend with wins over Maryland and Columbia. Senior 174-pounder Brevin Cassella leads Binghamton with a 14-4 record and is ranked 14th by Intermat. Will Ebert (12-6) is ranked 23rd at 184 pounds, while Cory Day (10-4) is ranked No. 18 at 285 pounds. 

Hofstra leads the all-time series against Binghamton, 11-10, but has dropped the last two meetings. Hofstra's lineup for Thursday is as follows:

Following Thursday's dual, Hofstra will compete at the Lehman Open. The event is in its 12th year. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 6:30 p.m. The Pride will have 16 attached entrants as well as four unattached wrestlers. Competing at the Lehman Open will be:
