Hofstra Hosts Binghamton Monday With Pregame Block Party

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's soccer team, winners of two consecutive games, will look to extend their winning streak Monday evening when they host Binghamton at 5:30 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The game will be preceded by the Hofstra Soccer Block Party, which begins at 4 p.m. on the roadway adjacent to the stadium, and is open to the public free of charge.

Monday's game will be streamed live on FloFC with an audio only broadcast on WRHU-FM (88.7). Live statistics will also be provided. Links for all can be found above or on the men's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is coming off a 2-0 home victory over Providence Thursday night behind the scoring of Jacob Woznicki and a strong overall defensive effort. Woznicki had the first brace of his Hofstra career, scoring in each half. Owen Barnett and Roc Carles added assists to cap the offensive side of the game. Defensively, goalkeeper Filippo Dadone saved the only two shots he faced as the Hofstra defense denied the Friars many good scoring chances.

Binghamton enters the night with a 2-1 record and is coming off a 3-0 loss to William & Mary this past Wednesday. The Bearcats did open the year with a pair of 1-0 wins over Mount St, Mary's and Le Moyne. Charlie Kaldor and Luke Yates each have goals for Binghamton, while Dylan McDermott has started all three games in goal.

Hofstra holds a 5-1-1 series lead against Binghamton and has won the last two games. The Pride won at home last season, 1-0, behind a Bjorn van Gorkom goal.

Following Monday's game, Hofstra will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for the start of Coastal Athletic Association play at William & Mary on Saturday, September 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
