Hofstra Takes On American Sunday In First Road Test

Hempstead, NY - The 17th-ranked Hofstra University men's soccer team will have their first road test of the season Sunday night at American and will be looking to get in the win column following a scoreless draw against Fordham. Kickoff at Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland, is set for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live statistics also available. In the season opener Thursday night, Filippo Dadone made five saves in his first Hofstra start as the Pride battled Fordham to a 0-0 tie. American also opened with a scoreless draw Thursday against California Baptist. 

The Pride is 2-14-1 all-time against American. The teams have not met since the 2015 season, a 2-0 Eagles victory in the Capitol Cup in Washington, DC. 

Following Sunday's game, Hofstra will return home to host Providence on Thursday, August 29 at 7 p.m.
