Brian Beck represented Hofstra at the 2024 Coastal Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Elon, North Carolina, and all earned top-10 finishes in their events Friday.
Sophomore
Abraham Longosiwa took first place and set the men's 10,000m meet record with a time of 29:39.80, breaking the previous record set in 2021 by over 15 seconds. Longosiwa held a margin of victory of one minute over Stony Brook's Evan Brennan. Torrillo, a freshman from Morganville, New Jersey, earned a sixth place finish in the race with a personal best time of 31:33.83.
In the men's long jump event
Nile Love finished fifth with a mark of 7.13m.
Brian Beck ran the 3000m steeplechase in 9:52.55 to take ninth place.
The Pride the first of the two-day meet with 17 team points, falling behind Campbell with 18.5. Monmouth leads the CAA teams with 55.5 points, while Northeastern is behind them with 48.
Saturday, Hofstra runner
Michael Silveri raced in the 5000m race and finished with a time of 15:02.33 to take 15th. The Pride concludes the two day Championship in 9th place as a team, with 17 points. Northeastern took the team title with 140.5, while Campbell fell just three points behind.
