Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's track and field team hosted six runners from Long Island University for Hofstra's Outdoor Track & Field Invitational Friday morning at Kellenberg Memorial High School's track. The Pride competed in six events at the invitational and took first place in all.
Abraham Longosiwa led Hofstra in the men's 5,000m race finishing with a time of 14:44.93, while freshman
Daniel Torrillo took second at 14:45.05.
Michael Silveri placed in third with a time of 14:58.20. Longoswia raced in the mile and finished first with a time of 4:21.65. In the 100m dash,
Nayan Chatterjee led the Pride finishing in 11.67.
Nile Love was behind him at 11.75, while
Adam Gordon finished in 11.86 and
Greg Franzetti in 13.71. Love also finished in first in the long jump with a mark of 6.65m. In the 5,000m, mile, 100m dash, and long jump Hofstra was the only team to compete.
Alec Padron finished in first place of the 200m dash with a time of 23.42.
Cade Jaipaul came in second at 25.55, while
Vis Haripal finished in third place with a time of 26.11. In the 800m race,
Trevor Zappulla took the title with a time of 2:01.33.
Sameer Grewal finished in third at 2:09.10, while senior Zach Kohner finished fourth with a time of 2:27.92.
Hofstra is back in action on Thursday, April 25, at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
