Hofstra Hosts Northeastern In CAA Opener This Weekend

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team opens Coastal Athletic Association play Friday with a doubleheader against preseason CAA favorite Northeastern. First pitch at University Field is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The series concludes Sunday at 12 p.m. All three games will be streamed live on FloBaseball with live statistics also available.

Hofstra enters the weekend with a 6-13 record and has dropped four consecutive games. The Pride is coming off a 10-8 loss at Fordham on Wednesday that saw Hofstra battle back from a 10-0 deficit over the final three innings. The Pride had the tying runs in scoring position in the ninth inning before the Rams escaped the jam.

Northeastern comes to Hempstead with a 14-5 record and is riding a three-game winning streak. The Huskies defeated Merrimack, 9-5, in the last game on Wednesday. Northeastern was nationally ranked as high as No. 23 earlier this season.

Game 1: Michael O'Hanlon vs. Jake Giglioti
Game 2: Steven Kaenzig vs. TBD
Game 3: Cade Henry vs. Wyatt Scotti

Hofstra is 27-54 all-time against Northeastern.
