Hofstra Plays At Columbia And Fordham In Midweek Contests

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team hits the road for a pair of midweek games beginning Tuesday at Columbia and concluding Wednesday at Fordham. First pitch from Cloumbia's Robertson Field at Satow Stadium is 3:30 p.m., while Wednesday's game at Houlihan Park gets underway at 3 p.m.

Tuesday's game between the Lions and Pride can be streamed live on ESPN+, while Wednesday's game will feature an audio only stream. Live statistics will be available for both games. Links can be found on the baseball schedule page of GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra enters the week with a 6-11 record and is coming off a 1-2 series at home against Manhattan. The Pride won the opener, 9-1, behind a strong pitching performance from Michael O'Hanlon before losing the final two games. 

Columbia is 3-11 and is on an eight-game losing streak. The Lions are coming off a three-game series loss at No. 11 East Carolina this past weekend. Fordham is 6-13 on the season and split a pair of games this past Sunday, defeating Army West Point and losing to Fairfield. 

Columbia leads the all-time series against the Pride, 11-7-1. The teams have not played since 2007. Hofstra is 24-33 against Fordham with this being the first meeting since 2019.

Following the midweek games, the Pride returns home to open Coastal Athletic Association play against CAA preseason favorite Northeastern. The three-game series begins Friday at 2 p.m.
