Hempstead, NY - The 2024 season for the Hofstra men's lacrosse team gets underway on Saturday when the Pride hosts local rival Wagner. 

Opening face-off from James M. Shuart Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Hofstra is coming off an injury-riddled five win campaign a season ago. The Pride won two of its last three games last season with the lone loss being a one-goal defeat. Hofstra returns a ton of offensive firepower as the Pride's top three and six of the top seven scorers from a season ago are back. Hofstra also welcomes back one of the nation's top face-off guys in Chase Patterson. 

Wagner went 3-11 last season. 

The Pride and the Seahawks last met on March 2, 2021, with Hofstra tallying an 18-6 victory over Wagner. This is the third all-time meeting between the schools with Hofstra winning both of the previous games in the series.
