Hofstra Takes On Top-Seeded Elon Sunday In CAA Semifinals

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's soccer team, 18th-ranked and seeded fourth, advanced to the Coastal Athletic Association Semifinals Thursday night with a thrilling overtime win over Charleston and will face the top-seed Phoenix of Elon Sunday afternoon in Elon, North Carolina. Kickoff from Rudd Field is set for 2 p.m. The game will be streamed live on FloFC with live statistics and an audio-only broadcast from WRHU available as well. Links for all can be found above or on the men's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

The Pride (12-4-2) advanced to their seventh consecutive CAA Semifinal thanks to an incredible goal from Teddy Baker with under three minutes to play in the second overtime. The senior midfielder bent his corner kick into the upper right corner for the game-winner.

Elon (10-6-1) had a first round bye and has won two consecutive games going into Sunday's semifinal. The Pride defeated the Phoenix, 2-1, at home on September 28 behind a pair of Lennon Gill goals and has won three consecutive meetings. Hofstra defeated Elon at Rudd last season and also beat the Phoenix in the CAA title game in 2022.

The winner of Sunday's game will face the winner of the No. 6 UNCW-No. 2 Drexel game next weekend in the CAA Championship game. That game will be played at the highest remaining seed. Hofstra is seeking its fourth CAA Championship in a row.
