Hofstra Falls At No. 6 Ohio State

Columbus, OH - Greyson Harris and Ross McFarland each picked up wins by decision, but the sixth-ranked Buckeyes scored bonus point wins in the other eight matches to take a 38-6 victory over the Pride Sunday afternoon at the Covelli Center. Hofstra slipped to 2-2 on the season with the loss, while the Buckeyes moved to 3-0. 

Ohio State, which featured eight ranked wrestlers in its lineup, won the first six bouts to take a 28-0 lead with two wins by fall and four major decisions. Harris put the Pride on the board with an 11-7 win over T.J. Schierl at 174 pounds. Harris scored three takedowns in the bout to earn the decision. McFarland, ranked No. 29 by InterMat, followed with a 7-3 win at 184 pounds over Gavin Bell. Trailing 3-2, McFarland scored a second period takedown and got a stall point and a riding time point to pick up the win. 

Hofstra returns to action December 6-7 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. 

Notes:
-Hofstra moved to 0-8 all-time against Ohio State.
-McFarland picked up his sixth win of the season, while Harris earned his third.
-McFarland is 4-0 in duals.
