| By:
Hempstead, NY - For the second consecutive season and the second time in program history, the Hofstra University men's soccer team has received a national seed in the NCAA Championship and will have a first round bye. The Pride, who are making their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance, earned the No. 7 seed and will face the winner of the Vermont/Iona first round matchup Sunday, November 24 at 5 p.m. at Captains Field. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Tickets will be available Tuesday, November 19 and will be sold at HofstraTickets.com, by phone at (516) HOF-TIXX, or in person at the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex during regular business hours. Prices are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under, senior citizens, and students with a school ID.

Hofstra (14-4-2) won the Coastal Athletic Association championship for the fourth season in a row and eighth time overall this past Saturday night with a 1-0 victory against UNCW. An own goal was the only score in the contest and the Hofstra defense held the Seahawks to just two shots on goal as the Pride earned a spot in the NCAA Championship for the ninth time in program history. Roc Carles, Pierce Infuso, Jacob Woznicki, and Laurie Goddard were each selected to the All-CAA Championship team with Goddard earning Most Outstanding Player honors.

The Pride's previous NCAA Championship appearances came in 1968, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2015, 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2021 and 2023, Hofstra advanced to the third round and the team advanced to the second round in 2004, 2006, and 2015.

Captains Field has hosted NCAA Championship games in 2005 versus Providence, 2006 versus Providence, 2015 versus Lehigh, 2021 versus Lipscomb, and 2023 versus Yale. Hofstra is 4-1 at home in NCAA play.

If Vermont advances out of the first round, it will be the 13th meeting between the two schools. Hofstra holds a 6-5-1 record against their former America East Conference rivals. The Pride is 14-4-1 all-time against Iona.
