Explosive Start Lands Sterling CAA Player of the Week Honor

Hempstead, NY – Thanks to a stellar start to her 2024-25 season, Chloe Sterling of the Hofstra women's basketball team has been named the Player of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association, the conference office announced today.
 
In the first two games of the season, Sterling averaged 19.5 points per game and shot 37.8% (14-37) from the floor, including 3-10 from three-point range, while averaging 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as the Pride split games against Sacred Heart and NJIT.
 
Sterling opened her Hofstra career with a personal-best 18 points on 7-19 shooting, 1-5 from three-point range, and 3-3 from the free throw line, with six rebounds and three assists in the Pride's lid-lifted versus Sacred Heart. In a road contest against NJIT on Friday, Sterling set a new career-high once again, this time scoring 21 points on 7-18 shooting, including 2-5 from beyond the arc and 5-6 from the charity stripe, while pulling down eight rebounds and dishing out four assists in a five-point win over the Highlanders.
 
Sterling and the Pride returns to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. non-conference contest versus Yale.
