No. 21/17 Hofstra Returns Home Saturday To Host Campbell

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's soccer team, ranked No. 21 by the United Soccer Coaches and No. 17 by Top Drawer Soccer, returns home to Captains Field Saturday for a 2 p.m. Coastal Athletic Association matchup against Campbell. Hofstra (8-3-1, 3-2-0 CAA) will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak following defeats at Drexel and Penn. The Pride is undefeated at home over its last 19 games (17-0-2) and is 5-0-1 in Hempstead this season. Jacob Woznicki and Laurie Goddard power the Pride offense with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Woznicki has six goals and three assists, while Goddard has five goals and four assists, which is tied for the team lead. Keeper Filippo Dadone has six shutouts and a 1.17 goals against average. 

Campbell enters the contest with a 6-3-4 record overall and a 2-1-1 mark in conference action. The Fighting Camels dropped a 1-0 decision to Coastal Carolina this past Tuesday, but had won two in a row prior to that setback including a 6-0 victory over Stony Brook. Filipe Matos leads Campbell in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Sammy Slimi has played nine games and has a 0.89 goals against average and 22 saves. 

Last season marked the first meeting between Hofstra and Campbell, with the teams playing to a 2-2 draw. The Pride's Eliot Goldthorp scored both goals including the equalizer with less than a minute to play. 

Following Saturday's game, Hofstra will travel south to Raleigh, North Carolina, for a Tuesday night meeting against North Carolina State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
