Monday's contest caps off Hofstra Soccer Opening Weekend, which includes a Pride women's soccer match Sunday afternoon versus Saint Joseph's. There will be a Block Party prior to Monday's game adjacent to the stadium and there will be recognition ceremonies for the 2022 Team as well as the Dempster and Healy families for their philanthropy towards the Hofstra soccer programs. Following the game, there will be a fireworks show presented by Fireworks by Grucci.

Hofstra (2-1) is coming off an impressive 4-2 victory at Providence Friday night. Ryan Carmichael had a goal and an assist, while Teddy Baker and Albert Kang each notched their first goals in a Hofstra uniform. Eoin Farrell and Pierce Infuso added assists and Wessel Speel made one save.

Penn (0-1), which is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, opened up its season Friday night with a 2-1 loss at Fordham. All the scoring came in the first 23 minutes of the contest with the Rams snapping a 1-1 tie on a penalty kick goal. Stas Korzeniowski had the Quakers goal.

This will be Hofstra's first-ever meeting with Penn.
