Ochs Earns USILA Scholar All-American Nod; Pride Earns Academic Team Award As Well

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra graduate student Daniel Ochs was named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-American, it was announced yesterday by the organization. 

In addition, Hofstra as a team earned the USILA Academic Team Award. The Pride carries a 3.29 grade point average as a squad. 

Ochs hails from Syosset, New York, and has a 3.74 GPA as a history major. A member of the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team this season, he posted 23 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, while starting all 14 games. He is a member of both the CAA Commissioner's Academic and Hofstra Athletic Director Scholars Academic Honor Rolls, as well as being a Dean's List student. 

Last month he was named to the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team as well. 

It marks the sixth straight season that Hofstra has had at least one USILA Scholar All-American.
