Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Serge Clement was named one of the "75 Rising Stars: Impactful Men's Mid Major Assistants" by Silver Waves Media.

Silver Waves Media's Rising Stars lists have generated buzz for the last four years as more than 20 coaches have advanced to the top spot of their own programs. The 2023 Men's list features some of the most outstanding and impactful assistants in Division I Men's basketball. After consulting with a panel of industry professionals, they have announced the 2023 75 Rising Stars: Impactful Men's Mid Major Assistants.

Clement just concluded his second season at Hofstra and has been part of a pair of incredible campaigns with the Pride. His first season on staff saw the Pride win 21 games, while playing one of toughest non-conference schedules in program history. Hofstra would capture one of the biggest wins in program history during the year as they went on the road and defeated nationally-ranked Arkansas.

This past season, Clement and Hofstra won 25 games, captured the regular season Colonial Athletic Association title and advanced to the National Invitation Tournament. The Pride would defeat top-seeded Rutgers in the first round of the NIT for the program's first postseason victory since 2006 and would go on to host Cincinnati in the second round. During the regular season, the Pride added another ranked win as they went on the road and defeated nationally-ranked Charleston.

Prior to Hofstra, Clement also worked as an assistant coach at Marist, Saint Peter's, Adelphi, and SUNY Cortland.
