Tim Hegarty had arguably the best game of his career and led a spectacular defensive effort in helping the Pride men's lacrosse team to a huge 8-7 road win over Drexel on Saturday. For his efforts, he was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Week today.
Hegarty posted career-highs of four ground balls and three caused turnovers, while also keying a strong defensive unit that only allowed seven goals - the Dragons fewest of the season.
Hegarty previously had two ground balls on several occasions most recently against Towson this season and also previously had two caused turnovers on a trio of occasions most recently at Merrimack this year.
Hegarty has at least one ground ball in three consecutive games and eight times this season and has tallied caused turnovers in five games this year.
