Hofstra Closes Homestand With Iona and Fairfield

4/17/2023 4:50:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team will close out a six-game home stand this week with games against Iona and Fairfield. The Pride hosts the Gaels Tuesday before welcoming the Stags to University Field Wednesday. Both games will start at 3 p.m. and will stream live on FloBaseball.

Hofstra (15-19) is riding a season-best five-game winning streak and is coming off a sweep of CAA foe Towson this past weekend. The Pride completed the sweep with a 13-0 victory behind the arm of Brad Camarda, who threw a four-hit complete game shutout. Ryan Morash drove in five runs to pace the Pride offense.

Iona is 7-25 on the season and is coming off a 1-2 weekend at Quinnipiac. Fairfield is 21-12 on the season and has won four consecutive games. The Stags swept Hartford this past weekend.

Hofstra is 15-20 all-time against Iona and defeated the Gaels, 6-4, last season behind a walk off three-run home run from Jake Liberatore. The Pride is 9-13 against Fairfield and picked up a 9-3 victory last season. Kevin Bruggeman had a grand slam in the game.

Mark Faello is scheduled to start for the Pride Tuesday against Iona.
