Staten Island, NY - For the second time this season,
Nile Love earned a top three finish and broke a Hofstra record, while competing at the Wagner College Shootout at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.
Love finished third in the long jump with a mark of 7.05m and broke Hofstra's record of 6.94m he had previously set the week prior at the Youree Spence-Garcia Meet, hosted by St. John's.
Greg Franzetti also represented the Pride for this event and earned a 43nd place finish with a mark of 5.65m.
James Watterson competed for Hofstra in shot put, recording a personal best throw of 9.01m to place 38th.
Adam Gordon competed in the pole vault field event and placed 10th after a 3.60m vault.Â
Nayan Chatterjee (57th, 7.40) and
Vis Haripal (103rd, 7.95) competed in the 60m dash for the Pride, while
Daniel Torrillo represented Hofstra in the mile (18th, 4:35.6), and
Alec Padron (80th, 38.41) and
Cade Jaipaul (91st, 39.8) competed in the 300m dash.
Sameer Grewal represented the Pride in the 600m, finishing in 1:27.18 to place 30th, while
Trevor Zappulla (13th, 2:36.48) and
Zachary Kohner (35th, 3:24.94) ran in the 1000m for Hofstra.Â
The Hofstra men return to action after the new year for the USATF Cross Country Championships in Richmond, Virginia, on January 20.Â
