Top-Seeded Hofstra Hosts Delaware In CAA Semifinals Sunday

Hempstead, NY - The top-seeded and 17th-ranked.Hofstra University men's soccer team will host fourth-seeded Delaware in the semifinals of the Coastal Athletic Association Championship Sunday, November 5 at 2 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Admission is free. 

The game will be live streamed on FloFC with Kevin Dexter and Dan Savarino on the call. There will also be a live audio only broadcast with students from WRHU, Radio Hofstra University, on the call. Live statistics will also be available with all coverage links available on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (11-3-4) will be looking to avenge its only conference loss of the season as it strives for a third consecutive CAA Championship. The Pride lost a 2-1 game at Delaware on October 14. Pierce Infuso had the Pride's lone goal in the game. 

In addition to three consecutive CAA Championships, the Pride will be looking for their seventh all-time CAA Championship and an 11th CAA finals appearance.

Delaware (9-3-6) earned a spot in the semifinals after tying Drexel Thursday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The Blue Hens advanced on penalty kicks, 4-2. 

Hofstra leads the all-time series against the Blue Hens, 23-13-2. This will mark the third meeting between the two schools in CAA Championship play with Hofstra holding a 2-0 lead. The Pride defeated Delaware in the finals in 2015 and in the quarterfinals in 2019. 


The winner of Sunday's game advances to play the winner of the Monmouth-Elon game next weekend for the CAA Championship and an automatic NCAA Championship berth.
