Hempstead, NY - The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Five members of the Pride - Roc Carles, Pierce Infuso, Stefan Mason, Wessel Speel, and Joe Wright - earned a spot on the team.

Carles, a senior midfielder majoring in finance, has a 3.98 grade point average. A team captain, he has started 18 of 20 games and has three assists. Carles is making his first appearance on the Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team.

Infuso, a senior defender majoring in finance, is also a first-time selection. A 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America, Infuso anchors a Pride defense that allows less than a goal per game and just four shots on goal per game. He has also chipped in with two goals and an assist. Infuso, a First Team All-CAA honoree, has a 3.70 grade point average.

Mason, two-time CSC Academic All-American®, is now a three-time Academic All-District® selection. The graduate defender and team captain has started 20 games and has four assists. He helps lead the Pride's stout defense and owns a 3.71 grade point average as a finance major.

Speel makes his third Academic All-District® Team appearance after playing every minute in goal this season. The senior goalkeeper, who was a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American in 2022, has a 0.76 goals against average and nine shutouts on the season and was a Second Team All-CAA selection. A finance major, Speel sports a 3.81 grade point average.

Wright is making his second consecutive appearance on the Academic All-District® Men's Team. The graduate midfielder and business analytics major has a 3.85 grade point average. On the field, he has started 20 games for the Pride.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Hofstra is 14-3-4 on the season. The Pride won the CAA for the third consecutive season and is the 14-seed in the NCAA Championship. Hofstra will play at third-seeded North Carolina Sunday at 5 p.m. in the NCAA Third Round.
