Beatriz Alves was named to the All-Coastal Athletic Association First Team and freshman
Beatriz Braga earned CAA All-Rookie Team accolades, it was announced today by the conference office.
The postseason awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Alves earns All-CAA First Team honors after posting 1,147 assists, 250 digs, 87 kills, 43 service aces, and 42 total blocks. This marks the third All-CAA honor of Alves' career as she was a first team selection in 2022 and a second team honoree in 2021. She has also been a two-time CAA Setter of the Year after capturing the award in 2022 and 2021. One of the all-time best setters in program history, Alves ranks sixth all-time in program history with 3,270 career assists. A preseason All-CAA pick, she was the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on September 11.
Braga had a strong first season for Hofstra as she accumulated 160 kills, 195 digs, 29 service aces, 14 blocks, and 14 service aces. She tallied a season-high 15 kills against Delaware State and 18 digs versus Stony Brook. She earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors on August 28.
