Clara Bal slammed down 17 kills and
Izadora Stedile added 15 kills and 10 digs to lead the Hofstra volleyball team to its fourth consecutive win, a four-set victory over Binghamton to close play at the Black Knight Invitational at Gillis Field House.
Nina Jioshvili-Ravva was outstanding for the Pride with 38 assists, 18 digs, three kills, and a pair of blocks.
The win improved Hofstra's record to 4-0 this season, while Binghamton dropped to 1-5. Set scores were 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, and 25-19.
Constanza Perez Sain posted nine kills, six digs, and four service aces for the Pride in the match.
Hofstra took the first two sets to take a commanding lead in the match before Binghamton narrowed the gap. The Pride would put the match away in the fourth set as they tallied 16 kills in the set, matching the identical amount they had in first and second sets, to put the finishing touches on the win.
Nil Kayaalp had another strong match for Hofstra with 17 digs and seven assists.
Merima Smajlovic posted 14 kills and 11 digs for Binghamton, which also got 32 assists and 16 digs from Alexandra Koleva.
Hofstra returns to action at the Rose Hill Classic next Friday. The Pride will take on Fordham at 1 p.m.
NOTES
- Hofstra improved to 4-3 all-time against Binghamton. The Pride won both matches this year against the Bearcats.
- Hofstra is 4-0 for the first time since the 2023 team began the year 6-0.
- This marks the third 4-0 start under 12th-year Head Coach
Emily Mansur.
- Hofstra improved to 129-41 (.759 winning percentage) all-time against teams from the state of New York.
