Hofstra Hosts Delaware State for ‘What I Want to Be’ Day

Hempstead, NY – Fresh off a thrilling overtime win on Sunday, the Hofstra women's basketball team welcomes Delaware State to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Wednesday, November 15.
 
Tip-off against the Hornets is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The game is part of a special "What I Want to Be" Day at the Mack Sports Complex.

The Pride's 51-48 overtime win over Wagner moved Hofstra to 1-1 on the season. Zyheima Swint had a monster day under the rim for Hofstra, pulling down 21 rebounds while recording nine points, five steals, and four blocks. Brooke Anya tallied the first double-double of her Hofstra career with 11 rebounds and 10 points, while Sorelle Ineza scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter, and Selma Markisic had a big impact off the bench with 10 points.
 
Delawae State is currently 0-3 on the year following a 105-44 loss at Richmond on Sunday. Kiarra Mcelrath leads the Hornets with 11.3 points per game, and McKenzie Stewart is the team's leading rebounder with 4.0 boards per game.
 
Hofstra's all-time record against Delaware State stands at 4-1. The teams met last season in Dover, Delaware, with the Pride earning a 56-52 road win.
