Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University junior midfielder Eliot Goldthorp was voted Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Year and was joined by teammates Ryan Carmichael, Pierce Infuso, and Wessel Speel on All-CAA teams as the league announced its postseason honors this morning. Goldthorp's selection as Player of the Year marks the second consecutive season that a Pride player earned the award following Ryan Carmichael in 2022.

Goldthorp, who was selected the CAA Preseason Player of the Year, backed up the choice by turning in another stellar season for the Pride. The Leeds, United Kingdom, native has seven goals, 12 assists, and 26 points going into the CAA Championship. He leads the nation and the CAA in assists, is second in the league in points, and sixth in goals. In addition to his Player of the Year honor, Goldthorp was also named to the All-CAA First Team for the second year in a row..

Carmichael followed his 2022 CAA Player of the Year season in spectacular fashion, posting a CAA-leading 12 goals and 28 points to grab a spot on the All-CAA First Team for the third consecutive season. He also contributed four assists. The forward from Armagh, Northern Ireland, is tied for ninth in the nation in both goals and points. He enters the CAA Championship as the leading active scorer in the nation with 41 career goals and 99 career points.

Infuso (Merrick, NY) earned a spot on the All-CAA First Team after anchoring the Pride defense that allowed a CAA-best 0.778 goals per game (14 goals in 18 games) and limited the opposition to just 11 shots per game and just 4.2 shots on goal per game. A Second Team All-CAA selection a season ago, Infuso all chipped in on the offensive end with two goals and an assist.

Speel (Utrecht, The Netherlands) makes his third career appearance on an All-CAA team, earning second team honors after posting an 11-3-4 record with eight shutouts. The senior netminder played every minute this season and leads the CAA in goals against average (0.778) and shutouts. He is second in save percentage (.813) and third in saves with 61. Speel is Hofstra's career leader in shutouts with 24 and ranks third in the nation among active players as well.

Hofstra is the top seed in the CAA Championship, which gets underway Thursday with quarterfinal action. The Pride will host the winner of the Drexel-Delaware game Sunday at 2 p.m.
