Hofstra Looks To Clinch CAA Top Seed Saturday At Northeastern

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team, ranked No. 22 in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches, will look to win the Coastal Athletic Association regular season championship Saturday night when it closes out the regular season at Northeastern. Kickoff at Parsons Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.

A win by the Pride (10-3-4, 4-1-2 CAA) will clinch the top overall seed for the Pride, which will ensure home field advantage throughout the CAA Championship. It will also give the team a bye until the semifinals. The Pride can also claim the top seed with a draw or a loss, but would need other results to go their way. Hofstra can finish no worse than a three seed with a loss or draw.

Northeastern (4-6-6, 1-3-3 CAA) is also in the hunt for the final CAA Championship berth, but would need a win and additional help from other results around the league.

The Pride trails the all-time series with the Huskies, 13-14-3. Hofstra won last season's meeting in Hempstead, 2-1.

The field and schedule for the CAA Championship will be announced following the conclusion of league play Saturday night.
