Van Houten Finishes Third in CAA Championship; Hofstra Places Fifth

Mechanicsburg, VA - Hofstra men's cross country runner Zach Van Houten finished third in the Coastal Athletic Association Championship. The Pride placed fifth as a team, out of the 11 team field. 

Van Houten earned All-CAA honors with his third place finish and personal record time of 24:15.90. 

Sophomore Abraham Longosiwa placed 21st, finishing with a time of 25:25.60. Daniel Torrillo finished 28th with a time of 25:47.20, Jamie Cartnal finished in 52nd-place in 27:02.80, Brian Beck finished in 27:25.30 in 62nd place, Aiden Willey came in 69th with a time of 28:00.00, Brendan Capodanno finished in 83rd-place in 28:55.30. 

The Pride scored 140 points to earn a fifth place finish, 33 points behind Monmouth in fourth, and 22 points ahead of Elon in sixth. Stony Brook captured its second CAA team title with 36 points and four runners placing inside the top 10. The Seawolves finished 13 points ahead of Northeastern, while Benjamin Godish from Northeastern won the individual title with a time of 24:06.40.

Hofstra is back in action on November 10, at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship in the Bronx.
