Hofstra Hosts Drexel Saturday In Key CAA Game

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will be back in action Saturday night (7 p.m.) in their final home game of the 2023 regular season. The Pride will host Drexel at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in a game that has tremendous implications for seeding in the Coastal Athletic Association Championship. 

Hofstra (9-3-4, 3-1-2 CAA) is currently in third place in the CAA standings, trailing the second-place Dragons (8-1-4, 3-1-3 CAA) by one point in the standings. This is Drexel's final CAA game of the season, while the Pride have two remaining. 

Prior to the start of the game, Hofstra will recognize 13 players - Ryan Carmichael, Eliot Goldthorp, Pierce Infuso, Albert Kang, Stefan Mason, Nico Oberrauch, Jason Ramirez, Shane Salmon, Wessel Speel, Oliver Svalander, Bjorn van Gorkom, Andrew Weiner, and Joe Wright - as they make their final home appearance of the regular season. 

The Pride are coming off a 2-1 loss at No. 19 New Hampshire and are on a two-game losing streak. Drexel is on a 10-game unbeaten streak (7-0-3) and has won three consecutive contests. The Dragons downed Army West Point, 4-1, in their last game.

Saturday's game will be live streamed on FloFC with an audio-only broadcast on WRHU's Hofstra Alternative Web Channel (HAWC). Live statistics will aslo be available. Links for all can be found on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is 22-28-12 all-time against Drexel. The teams played to a 2-2 draw last season in Philadelphia. Carmichael and Goldthorp scored for the Pride. 

Following Saturday's game, Hofstra will have a week off before playing at Northeastern in the regular season finale on October 28.
