Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra wrestling team will look to get back on track Saturday when it visits the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, for an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association matchup. Start time at Dahlgren Hall is set for 1 p.m.

The Pride (2-3, 1-3 EIWA) is coming off a 27-8 loss at Binghamton Thursday night that ended a two-match win streak. The Pride won a pair of weight classes as Justin Hoyle at a major decision at 141 pounds and No. 30 Trey Rogers picked up a tech fall at 197 pounds. Six of Hofstra's losses came by less than three points.Â
Navy is 1-5 on the season and 0-1 in league action. Three of Navy's five losses have come against ranked opponents. Navy fell to 23rd-ranked Maryland (18-15), 19th-ranked South Dakota State (31-6), and 19th-ranked Lehigh (21-16). The Midshipmen have five nationally-ranked wrestlers in the InterMat poll Brendan Ferretti (31st at 133), Josh Koderhandt (30th at 141), David Key (32nd at 184), Jacob Koser (29th at 197), and Grady Griess (20th at 285).Â
Navy holds a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series with Hofstra. The teams met last season in Hempstead with the Mids winning, 35-6. Zachary Knighton Ward had a win over Griess for the Pride in the dual with Ricky Stamm collecting a victory as well.Â
Following the match, Hofstra will return home and prepare for a pair of matchups next weekend with George Mason visiting on Friday, February 3 at 6 p.m. and Drexel on Sunday, February 5 at 1 p.m.
