Hofstra Looks To Extend Unbeaten Streak Saturday Versus Delaware

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will put their five-game unbeaten streak on the line Saturday evening when the Pride hosts Delaware in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Game time is 5 p.m.

The Pride enters the game with a 5-2-1 record overall and a 2-1-1 mark in CAA action. Hofstra is 4-0-1 in its last five contests. The Pride is coming off a 0-0 draw at William & Mary last Saturday night. Eliot Goldthorp and Ryan Carmichael have each scored four goals to pace the Pride offense with Goldthorp adding three assists to lead the team as well. Wessel Speel, the reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Week, has played every minute in goal and has a 1.00 goals against average and 19 saves. 

The Fightin' Blue Hens enter Saturday with a record of 2-5-2 overall and an 0-3-1 mark in league play. Delaware also drew in its last game, 2-2, against UNCW. Sam Donnellan, who has won back-to-back CAA Rookie of the Week awards, leads Delaware in scoring with five goals. Seidu Shamsudeen has two goals. Adam Vik has a 1.44 goals against average and 35 saves.

The Pride has enjoyed a great deal of success against Delaware with a 22-12-2 record. Hofstra is 8-0-1 in the last nine meetings against the Blue Hens.
