BB: Hofstra Heads To Towson For CAA Series

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team will look to maintain its success in Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend when it travels to Towson for a three-game series against the Tigers at Schuerholz Park. Hofstra is 7-5 in league play and has won three of its first four CAA series'.

Overall, Hofstra is 16-15 and is coming off a 9-3 win at Fairfield this past Tuesday. Kevin Bruggeman had a grand slam home run as Hofstra rallied from a 2-0 deficit with nine runs over the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. The Pride won its last CAA series over Delaware, taking two of three from the Blue Hens at home over Easter weekend.

Towson is 9-27 overall and 0-9 in CAA play. The Tigers have lost seven consecutive games entering the series including a 4-3 loss to No. 21 Maryland in 10 innings this past Wednesday. Towson rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force extra innings before falling to the Terrapins.

Hofstra is 38-50 all-time against Towson. The teams split eight games last season, with each team winning twice at home and on the road.
