Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior men's soccer student-athlete
Hendrik Hebbeker has been named the 2021-22 Colonial Athletic Association Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year presented by Primis. Hebbeker earned the award following a vote by the CAA Academic Affairs Committee.

A native of Cologne, Germany, Hebbeker has a 3.96 grade point average and is a double major in mathematics and physics. A CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team selection this past season, Hebbeker also earned United Soccer Coaches First Team Scholar All-America honors as well. He is an eight-time member of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, a six-time Hofstra Provost's list (4.0 GPA) selection, and has been on the Hofstra Athletic Director Scholars Academic Honor Roll every semester.

On the field, Hebbeker helped lead Hofstra to a spectacular 2021 season. The Pride posted an 18-2-2 record with the 18 wins a program-best, captured the CAA championship for the first time since 2015, and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship for the first time in school history. His nine goals and team-high tying 11 assists played a huge role in Hofstra's success.

Hebbeker earned his share of postseason awards for his play, as he was a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American as well as a first team All-America pick by College Soccer News. A semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the top collegiate player in the nation, he also was selected to the All-CAA and the All-ECAC first team.

In honor of his accomplishment, Hebbeker will receive a $1,000 stipend along with a crystal award from the CAA.
