Hofstra enters the weekend series with a record of 8-7 and is coming off a 9-7 loss at St. John's this past Tuesday. Anthony D'Onofrio is batting .306 and has raised his average more than 100 points in the last four games as the senior outfielder is batting .500 (9-18) over that stretch. The Pride's pitching has been solid through the first 15 games and Hofstra will send out starters Mark Faello (1-1, 2.31), Tristan Nemjo (0-2, 6.17), and Brad Camarda (3-0, 2.49) to the hill for the three games.

Elon is 11-9 on the season and is coming off a 7-6 loss at East Carolina this past Wednesday night. The Phoenix has been led by Luke Stephenson and Alex Iadisernia. Stephenson is batting .303 with five home runs and 11 RBIs, while Iadisernia is hitting at a .299 clip with four home runs and 24 RBIs. Elon will send Joe Savino (1-1, 4.44), Brian Edgington (3-0, 2.35), and Cole Reynolds (0-0, 4.11) to the hill during the series.

Hofstra and Elon have met 15 times with the Phoenix holding a 10-5 edge. The teams have not met since the 2019 season. This also marks the 20th CAA opener for the Pride, which joined the league in 2002. Hofstra is 8-11 in its previous 19 league openers.

Following the Elon series, Hofstra will return to action Tuesday afternoon at LIU with a 3 p.m. start time. The Pride will then travel to Army West Point on Wednesday before returning home to host Charleston next Friday through Sunday.
