Hofstra Closes Regular Season With Senior Day Game Versus Charleston

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team closes out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a key Colonial Athletic Association game versus Charleston that will have a bearing on the Pride's seeding for the upcoming CAA Championship. Kick-off at Hofstra Soccer Stadium is set for 1 p.m. Prior to the game, aat 12:45 p.m., Hofstra will honor its graduating seniors.

Hofstra,which is currently in third place, needs a win and a UNCW loss to Elon to secure the second seed in the conference championship tournament.

The Pride enters the regular season finale with a three-game unbeaten streak and a record of 10-3-3 overall and 4-2-2 in conference action. Hofstra is coming off a 4-0 win at Lafayette this past Tuesday night, a game in which Oliver Svalander recorded three goals.

Charleston is still alive for a CAA Championship berth at 5-6-5 overall and 3-3-2 in league action. The Cougars will be looking for a win to solidify their spot and are still in play for as high as a three-seed depending on the results of other games.

Hofstra owns a 4-1-3 mark all-time against the Cougars. The teams tied, 1-1, in their last meeting during the 2021 season.
