MSOC: Red-Hot Hofstra Travels To Delaware Saturday

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will put its five-game winning streak on the line Saturday night when they take on Colonial Athletic Association rival University of Delaware at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium in Newark, Delaware. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.

Hofstra, which is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll and is No. 22 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll, is 8-1-0 overall this season and 2-1-0 in the CAA. The Pride has won five consecutive games, the eighth-longest streak in the nation, and is coming off a 2-1 road win at Saint Joseph's this past Tuesday. Ryan Carmichael continued his strong play as he recorded his fourth goal in two games in the match. Mason Tatafu provided the game-winning goal as his tally snapped a 1-1 tie early in the second half.

Delaware is 1-6-1 overall and 0-3 in league action. The Blue Hens picked up their first win Tuesday night, downing UMBC, 3-1. Carlos Fernandez scored his team-leading third goal in the win, breaking a 1-1 tie. Fernandez also has one assist for a team-high seven points on the season.

Hofstra is 21-12-2 all-time against Delaware and is 7-0-1 against the Blue Hens in the last eight meetings. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in their last meeting on March 26, 2021.

Following the Delaware game, Hofstra will return home for a Tuesday meeting against Columbia at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
