Richmond, Va. - Hofstra field hockey seniors
Cami Larsson and
Djuna Slort have been named to the Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Field Hockey Team, in an announcement by the conference Monday afternoon.
Larsson was named to the Preseason All-CAA Team, while Slort was named Honorable Mention. In addition, the conference preseason poll was released and the Pride are slated to finish tied for sixth.
A midfielder/defender from Cordoba, Argentina, Larsson picked up All-CAA Second Team honors last season after totaling six points on two goals and two assists. She scored goals against Drexel on March 21 and Northeastern on April 11, while her assists came against Drexel on April 7 and Delaware on April 18.
Slort, a defender from Amsterdam, Netherlands, scored two goals and dished out one assist for five points, earning her a spot on the 2020 All-CAA Second Team. Both goals were scored against Drexel on April 7 for the first multi-goal game of her Hofstra career, while she provided an assist against Northeastern on April 11.
James Madison tops the CAA preseason poll with four first-place votes and 34 points. Defending champions Delaware were picked second with two first-place votes and 31 points. William & Mary was picked third with 26 points, while Drexel was picked fourth with 19 points, and Northeastern received one first-place vote and 15 points to sit fifth. Hofstra and Towson received 11 points each to tie for sixth.
The Pride begins the 2021 season on August 27 away from home against Lafayette. The opener from Easton, Pennsylvania is scheduled for 4 p.m.
