Hempstead, NY – Fresh off a thrilling overtime win on Senior Day, the Hofstra field hockey team resumes its Coastal Athletic Association schedule on Friday, October 15, at Northeastern at 3 p.m. before hosting New Haven on Alumni Day on Sunday, October 17, at 12 p.m.
Both games will be streamed on FloCollege, while Sunday's contest will also air on MSGSN, and there will be live statistics available for both games. Links can be found on this page as well as on the GoHofstra.com field hockey schedule page.
Hofstra moved to 6-7 overall following a 5-1 defeat to Fairfield and a 4-3 overtime win against Wagner.
Teresa Karoff found the back of the goal three times in both games – once against Fairfield and twice versus Wagner – while
Gwenn van Dijk claimed CAA Rookie of the Week honors with a goal and two assists across the two fixtures.
Picked third in the CAA preseason poll, Northeastern enters Friday 5-6 overall following back-to-back losses to nationally-ranked Boston College and UAlbany, while the Huskies sport a 1-1 CAA mark with a win over William & Mary and a loss to Towson. Emilia Adragna and Camille Armaganian currently lead the Huskies in scoring with three goals apiece.
New Haven is 0-10 following defeats to Merrimack and Fairfield, and will face Stonehill on Friday prior to its Sunday clash with the Pride. Emma Beaujouan, Jalia Cooper, and Erin Smith all have one goal each for the Chargers.
Sunday will be the first-ever meeting in field hockey between Hofstra and New Haven, while the Pride sports an all-time record of 7-23 versus Northeastern.
