Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University Baseball team will play its final Colonial Athletic Association series of the season this weekend at Towson as it tries to keep its CAA Championship aspirations alive. The Pride need to win at least three of the four games to remain in contention for a second-place finish in the North Division. Towson has one more series, versus Northeastern, after this weekend.
The series begins Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. and continues with a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m. before concluding Sunday at 1 p.m. All four games will be streamed live by the Towson Sports Network and live statistics will also be available. Links for both can be found above or on the baseball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra enters the weekend with a 15-20 record overall and a 6-14 mark in the CAA. Hofstra has lost its last six games, including five in a row against the top team in the CAA, Northeastern. The Pride split a four-game series at home against Towson in April with each team winning a doubleheader.
Towson is 18-30 overall and 8-8 in the CAA. The Tigers are coming off a 3-1 series win at Delaware this past weekend. Towson won the first three games of the series before the Blue Hens salvaged the finale.
John Mikolaicyk will get the start in Friday's opener while
Jimmy Joyce will start in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. The remainder of Hofstra's pitching rotation has yet to be determined.
