Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team welcomes Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson to University Field for a four game series this Friday and Saturday, April 23-24. The teams will play a pair of doubleheaders in a schedule that was modified due to rain in the forecast on Sunday. First pitch on both days will be 11 a.m.
The Pride enters the series with an overall record of 10-12 and a 1-6 mark in CAA action. Hofstra is coming off a 1-3 weekend at Delaware. Towson is 13-21 overall and 3-1 in the CAA. The Tigers are playing at George Washington on Wednesday.
During the Delaware series, Hofstra welcomed back starting pitcher
Jack Jett, who had not pitched in a month. Jett did not disappoint as he picked up the win after going 6 innings, allowing two runs on six hits with 10 strikeouts.Jett (2-2) will start for the Pride in the series opener. The rest of Hofstra's rotation will be
Jimmy Joyce (1-2),
Mark Faello (2-0), and
Ryan Rue (2-0), though the order in which they will start is still not determined.Â
Towson will counter with Josh Seils (2-4) in game one. Nick Janowicz (2-1) will go in game two while Danny Madden (1-2) will start Saturday's opener. Nick Ramanjulu (1-4) will get the ball to close out the series.Â
