Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra field hockey team will hit the road for the final two games of the regular season this weekend. The Pride will first head to Maryland for a game against Towson on Friday, April 16, before traveling on Sunday, April 18, for the regular season finale against Delaware.
Friday's game is set to begin at 3 p.m., while Sunday's game has a start-time of 1 p.m. Live video and audio of Friday's game against Towson will be available through the Towson Sports Network, while Hens All-Access will carry the live video and audio stream of Sunday's game against Delaware. Hofstra enters the final stretch of the regular season with a 3-7 overall record and a mark of 0-2 against CAA opposition after a 3-1 home defeat to Northeastern this past Sunday. Junior

Djuna Slort in the second quarter. Sophomore Merijn van der Vegt made three saves in the defeat on Sunday.
With 10 points on three goals and four assists, freshman
Jasmijn Verdoes has enjoyed a stellar year for the Pride. The Dutch freshman ranks near the top of the Colonial Athletic Association in assists (tied for first), is third in points, and is tied for fourth in goals. Larsson, Slort and sophomore
Mercedes Currie have all found the back of the net twice this season, while Larsson and Slort have also dished out one assist each. Having played every minute of every game this season, van der Vegt has recorded 35 saves, a .636 save percentage and a 1.97 GAA in all 10 games for the Pride.
Towson enters Friday 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Tigers last played on April 11 in a 3-0 loss to James Madison. Samantha Aljets and Jenna Florenzo lead the Towson offense with two goals each. Lena Vandam has started all six games and has recorded 44 saves, a .759 save percentage, and a 2.33 GAA.
2-3 on the year and 1-2 in the conference, Delaware last played on April 13 in a 2-1 defeat to James Madison. The Blue Hens are led on offense by Femke Strein, with seven points on two goals and three assists, and Julia Duffhuis, with two goals. Lizzie Gaebel is the top goalkeeper for Delaware, as she has started all five games and recorded 18 saves, a .720 save percentage, and a 1.37 GAA.
Hofstra holds a 29-11 all-time record against Towson, and have won the last nine games against the Tigers dating back to the 2011 CAA Championship semifinal. Meanwhile, the Pride is 7-27 all-time against Delaware.
