Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's lacrosse team will begin Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend when it hosts #18 Drexel.
First draw control from James M. Shuart Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Prior to the contest, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the program will honor its seven seniors in a pregame ceremony. Those being honored include
Shannon Boyle,
Sabrina Cristodero,
Arianna Esposito,
Alexa Mattera,
Alyssa Parrella,
Darcie Smith, and
Katie Whelan.

Hofstra is 3-3 after dropping a close battle with #6 Stony Brook on March 25. Hofstra is playing its third straight ranked opponent. It is the first time since March 2-16, 2019 that the Pride will have faced three straight ranked opponents.
Senior
Alyssa Parrella leads the team with 31 points on 25 goals and six assists. She is also tops on the squad with 18 draw controls. Graduate student
Darcie Smith has 14 ground balls to rank first on the team in that category, while senior
Shannon Boyle has six caused turnovers for the Pride. Junior
Grace Langella is second on the team with 14 points (10 G, 4 A), while graduate student
Alexa Mattera has 13 points (8 G, 5 A), 12 ground balls, 16 draw controls, and five caused turnovers.
Parrella is closing in on the all-time Colonial Athletic Association scoring mark. She currently has 323 career points to rank second all-time in CAA history, trailing only Suzanne Wosczyna, who had 325 points for Old Dominion from 2001-04.
Drexel is 7-1 this season and has won three straight games, including a 15-10 win over Albany on March 25. Colleen Grady leads the Dragons with 52 points on 28 goals and 24 assists, while Karson Harris is second with 37 points (32 G, 5 A) and Lucy Schneidereith has 34 points (31 G, 3 A).
Hofstra leads the all-time series with Drexel, 28-8. The teams last met during the 2019 campaign with the Pride capturing a 19-11 victory.
