Hempstead, NY - Following a dominating start against La Salle in the first game of a doubleheader last Friday, graduate pitcher Jack Jett of the Hofstra baseball team was voted the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week via a fan poll on the @HofstraPride Twitter page.

The Reedville, Virginia, native went a career-long eight innings at La Salle, limiting the Explorers to just one hit (an infield single) while striking out a career-best nine batters in a 7-0 Hofstra victory. In addition th the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week Award, Jett was also named the CAA Pitcher of the Week. 

Jett has allowed just one unearned run and five hits in 13 1/3 innings over two starts. He is 1-0 on the season with a 0.00 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP and a .116 batting average against.

Jett will take his next turn in the rotation this Sunday at Villanova. Hofstra is 4-2 on the season.
