Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra men's lacrosse team will host two home games in four days, starting on Saturday (Feb. 27) in a 1 p.m. clash at James M. Shuart Stadium with rival Stony Brook in the 12th edition of The Long Island Rivalry.

Hofstra enters this weekend's game with a 1-1 record following a 13-6 win over Sacred Heart last Saturday.
Alex Concannon scored a career-high five goals, including four straight goals to help spark a 9-0 run in the second half to secure win over the Pioneers.
Justin Lynskey posted another four-point day with two goals and two assists, and
James Philbin scored his first points of the year with a pair of goals. In net,
Mac Gates nabbed the first win of his Hofstra career with 11 saves and just one goal allowed in the second half.
Concannon secured his first Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week award for his outing against Sacred Heart, while
Brian Herber was named to the USILA Division I Team of the Week for going 19-23 from the face-off X and recording seven ground balls.
Entering Saturday ranked No. 17 in the latest USILA Division I Coaches Poll, Stony Brook is 2-0 on the year after wins against Sacred Heart and Bryant. The Seawolves are led on offense by Cory VanGinhoven with 11 points on six goals and five assists and Dylan Pallonetti with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Backstopping Stony Brook on Saturday should be Anthony Palma, who was named to the USILA Division I Team of the Week after making 16 saves against Bryant.
Hofstra holds a 6-5 advantage over visiting Stony Brook, although the Seawolves have come out on top in the last two meetings.
