Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's lacrosse team earned the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team Academic Award, while
Austin Clarke garnered USILA Scholar All-American honors, the organization announced recently.
To earn Scholar All-American honors, a student-athlete must be a senior academically with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. In addition, he must be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding conference player.
To receive the Team Academic Award, a team must achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
Clarke, a finance major, owns a 3.75 grade point average. A member of the All-CAA Second Team this season, he also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors last month.
Hofstra was one of just 46 NCAA Division I programs to earn the USILA Team Academic Award. The Pride, which had an incredible 3.75 GPA this spring, has a cumulative GPA of 3.63 as a team.Â
