Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's lacrosse team will host Connecticut in its home opener on Saturday as the Pride look to build upon its season-opening win over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday.

Alyssa Parrella enters the game with 219 career goals, leaving her two shy of tying and three shy of breaking the Colonial Athletic Association record of 221 goals by Stacey Morlang of Loyola (1999-2002). Parrella opened the season with three goals and two assists against Saint Joseph's.
First draw control from James M. Shuart Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Hofstra earned a 10-9 win over the Hawks on Wednesday in its season opener as junior
Grace Langella also had a hat trick and scored the game winner with 8:31 left to push the Pride to the victory.
Saturday's game will be the season opener for the Huskies, which went 5-2 a season ago.
This will be the second-ever meeting between Hofstra and Connecticut in women's lacrosse. The Pride earned a 12-8 win over the Huskies in 2009.
The event is closed to the public. There are no tickets available for the game.
